About the Webinar

This special 2-day webinar features panels of former and current political prisoners in the u.s. engaging in dialogue with each other and revolutionaries from around the world, from Haiti to Palestine and Korea.

Join an international webinar examining the history and transformation of u.s. imperialism and its concrete manifestations, the most effective ways to activate the masses for a revolutionary process, and the tactics and strategies needed to confront and dismantle u.s. imperialism today. The main organizer of the event is Shaka A. Shakur, a current political prisoner from the New Afrikan Independence Movement who is currently incarcerated in Virginia.

About the Panelists and Moderator

Jalil Mutaqim is a former political prisoner and a dedicated, long-term activist in the New Afrikan Independence Movement.

Judy Taluagon is a leader in the struggle for Indigenous sovereignty, an anti-racist trainer, mental wellness advocate, sovereign heir, abolitionist, and grandparent. 

Linda Evans is a former political prisoner and a dedicated, long-term anti-imperialist activist.

Maria Barakat is a Lebanese and Palestinian American activist dedicated to the liberation of Palestine and all oppressed peoples.

Wednesday Jin is an international college student from China who is working with the Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign and the Korean peace movement. Jin translated Shaka’s last book, From the Republic of New Afrika to Palestine, into Mandarin.

InHui Lee was born and raised in the ruins of the Korean War in South Korea. Inspired by resistance fighters against occupying Japan, they joined student protests against the US-backed military dictatorship in the 1970s. In diaspora, they continue to struggle.

Fidelis Folifac is a Cameroonian born Pan-African Scientific Socialist based in the state of Georgia who focuses on local work in rural areas in the Rural u.s. and Global South.

Judith Mirkinson is a long-term human rights activist, former board member of the National Lawyers Guild, President of “Comfort Women” Justice Coalition, and member of Haiti Action Committee.

Moderator: Derek Ford, a founder of the Indianapolis Liberation Center where they serve as Organizational Relations Director, has been a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation since 2007 and an organizer with the ANSWER Coalition since 2006. They serve as Secretary of the Institute for 21st Century International Relations and on the editorial team of the Hampton Institute, International Manifesto Group, Friends of Socialist China, and Liberation School.
