Calling All Radical Students and Youth!

Late last year, Shaka A. Shakur issued a call for a nationwide radical, centralized student congress. Youth and students have played essential roles in revolutionary processes and, in the u.s., periods of rebellion that produced radical changes in society and people’s consciousness.

Now is the time to begin coalescing youth, students, and their organizations that are serious about radical, structural transformation into a nationwide Congress. Mobilizing around the most pressing issues of the day, those that are capturing the attention and enthusiasm of so much of the population, a Congress could develop a vision for what we are fighting for and develop strategies and tactics for achieving that vision.

Students and Youth L.I.T. (Liberation, Independence, and Transformation) emerged in response to Shaka’s challenge. We are holding our first meeting this Saturday and invite those who support Political Prisoners, the student movement, and liberation to all to join us as we discuss Shaka’s article and possible strategies, tactics, and political principles for the present moment.
