Starting December 2, the Mutual Aid Society at Georgia College is hosting a week-long outreach event to support the Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign.
Workers and students at the university can stop by the A&S fountain anytime this week between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm for a bake sale to raise funds for the campaign. They’ll also be selling Shaka’s writings and other merchandise while collecting signatures to support his release. Whether you can physically be there or not, you can take the following action steps:
- Send a letter to Prosecutor Bernard Carter on Shaka’s behalf
- Sign the petition for clemency
- Donate to the Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign*
- Apply to join the campaign
